New Year’s Eve Dinner and Wine Pairing

Hurray for 2018! I’m sure you’re almost ready to say farewell to this year. Remembering our days of ups and downs certainly helps us to reflect on them and make something great next year. Your celebration won’t be enough without getting the best wine possible. Like before, these pairings will help you out in selecting the best deals and greatest wine selections:

  1. Sauvignon Blanc is best paired with salads and mostly any vegetable-rich dishes. If most of your family member are vegan and wanted to enjoy that salad with wine, then this will be a great vegan dinner partner! We have tried this recipe called Gorgonzola Spinach Artichoke Dip and it should be a great dish to add on your New Year’s Eve super menu.

  1. Pinot Noir can be considered as an easy-tasting wine that goes along very well with meats like turkey or beef and if you have a delicious salmon dish, pinot noir will be a great match. Not only that, it goes along with almost any dinner courses including desert. There’s a recipe called Sweet-and-Spicy Cola-Glazed Ham that is both sweet, spicy and delicious at the same time.

  1. Chardonnay can be a great pair if your dinner is more of a buttery creamy type. It can further improve the taste with some oven-roasted dishes and mashed potatoes. If you don’t like plain-old mashed potatoes. You can try this twist: New Year’s Eve Potatoes.

  1. Sparkling can be a great partner with seafood including oysters. Oh, and don’t forget cheese. It goes along pretty well too. Try this simple but great Roasted Shrimp Cocktail.

  1. Cabernet Sauvignon will make those beefy dishes superb. If you think sausage pizza is not a great quick thanksgiving dinner then think again. Believe it or not, cabernet sauvignon can also be a great combination to that sausage pizza you are embarrassed of. Some basic like Mom’s Basic Meatloaf to make you feel at home. Not only that, this recipe tastes great with this kind of wine too!

  1. Merlot is best served with pies like shepherd’s pie and other heavily-oriented dishes. Spicy rice dishes like jambalaya can be a great companion to merlot. From Asian-inspired dishes to simple cheeseburgers, this type of will complete your feast. If you’re in the mood for burgers and tomatoes, this Tomato Bun Slider recipe will come in handy.
